China is a very open place - in that many people are open to the Gospel. You are not allowed to influence someone to become a Christian - it must be their choice - but I believe that in the end that it is the right way to do it. For how shall someone continue through trials, temptations, difficulties - if it they were only persuaded to become a Christian. Everytime I talk with someone 'openly' I ask God that through His Spirit He would have them ask the right questions and that I would give the right answers. Then when they are indeed ready to believe they are 'true Christians'.
Children love to hang around and do silly things - and yet they must also be 'scholars' according to their parents high demands. Legally, Chinese people are only allowed to have one child - so great stress is put on that child to obtain a 'high score' in examinations.
A friend of mine provides a place for Chinese students to come and talk to a western foreigner. So often the students wait for a chance to talk to someone. Our city has 1.2 million University students and many high school students.
